Zo is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial
infections in the urinary tract, respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues. This
medicine is used to treat Chlamydia, prostate infections, bronchitis and other
skin infections.
How
it works?
This medicine acts on the DNA gyrase preventing super
coiling of DNA during replication and transcription. It inhibits their function
and thus hinders the normal cell division process.

Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that belongs to the group of
fluoroquinolones drugs and is usually prescribed for conditions such as typhoid
fever, peritonitis, multi drug resistant tuberculosis, gonorrhea and acute ear
and eye infections.
Dosage

by the doctor about the dosage. Try not to change the dose and make sure that
you take in plenty of liquids with this medicine.

What
if you miss a dose?
Do not miss any dose, in case you do, take the missed one
immediately. If the time to the next dose is close, leave the missed one and go

if you overdose?
Never take more than the prescribed dosage; in case you do
you might notice symptoms such as vomiting and dizziness. Get in touch with
your local medical emergency center immediately or call up the poison center
for assistance.
Things
to be taken care of
Do not take Zo with dairy products such as milk or even
with juice, take this medicine with plain water. If you are allergic to
levofloxacin or gemifloxacin talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
If you are pregnant or breast feeding consult with your doctor about side
effects of this medicine before beginning the course.
Side
Effects
Taking Zo might cause several side effects such as
breathing problems, hives, swelling of tongue or lips, severe giddiness, pain
in the body, tenderness, stiffness in joints, hallucinations, bloody or watery
diarrhea, ringing in ears, headache, peeling of skin, blisters, sore throat,
seizures, irregular heartbeat, vision problems, swelling of eyelids, pain in
the eyes, nausea, change in sleep patterns and anxiety. In case, any of
these symptoms are noticed inform the doctor immediately and seek complete
medical assistance.
Interaction
with other drugs
Some medicines might interact with Zo and these are
warfarin, tizanidine, glyburid, clozapine, cyclosporine, metoclopramide,
probenecid, phenytoin, theophylline, ropinirole, diclofenac, ibuprofen and
meloxicam. Do not start any new medicine without consulting your doctor while
taking Zo. In case, you are on a medicine, inform this to your doctor before
you start taking this antibiotic. Avoid taking antacids with this medicine and
if on an oral contraceptive discuss with your doctor about other birth control
options during the length of the course.
