It is an oral medicine, which is most often known with its generic name Pioglitazone prescribed for the treatment of diabetes. This drug is recommended for Type-2 diabetes in which a body is not able to use the insulin normally and hence not capable to maintain the amount of sugar in the blood. Pioglitazone usage should be prohibited to treat Type-1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis. It helps to control the blood sugar levels in the body. This drug is one of the most preferred drugs to treat diabetes and it can be taken alone or with other diabetes medicines.
