it works?
Oflox ear and eye drops work on acute bacterial infections
by stopping the growth of bacteria and killing them before they spread.
Important
information about Medicine
Ofloxacin eye and ear drops are used to treat a wide
variety of bacterial infections in ears and eyes such as conjunctivitis,
blepharo conjunctivitis, mucopurelent conjunctivitis, otitis extena and chronic
suppurativ otitis media.
Dosage
information
Patients with moderate infection need to put these drops
in the infected area once or twice a day. In case of severe infection, the
dosage can be repeated after every 3 to 4 hours. The doctor would decide on the
dosage and one just needs to do as instructed. The length of course usually
varies from one to two weeks considering type ad severity of infection.

if you miss a dose?

Things
to be taken care of
Oflox ear and eye drops should not be used by someone who
is allergic to the constituents present in this medicine. If sensitive to
quinolones or hypersensitive to any medicine, make sure that you report this to
the doctor. Pregnant and lactating females need to talk to their doctor before
using this medicine. If planning to conceive, make sure that you inform your
doctor about this.
Side
Effects
Side effects of Oflox if applied to ears include tremor,
tinnitus, dermatitis, fungal infection, eczema, follicular rash, erythematous
rash, hot flushes and hypoaesthesia. Side effects in the eyes are headache,
dizziness, vertigo, seborrhea and nausea. Some of the severe side effects
include anorexia, photosensitivity, leucopenia and seizures.
Complete caution needs to be exercised if any of these symptoms
and noticed and one needs to seek immediate medical attention.
Interaction
with other drugs
Oflox ear and eye drops might interact with the medicines
used to treat epilepsy, hepatic impairment and super infection. If taking any
medicine inform your doctor about this before you start using the medicine.
Make sure that you do not use any other medicine when using these Oflox ear and
eye drops without informing your doctor. In case, you are on a diabetes
medicine or on a hypertension drug notify your doctor about this.
