SECZOLE is an antibacterial, anti infective and antiamebic medicine that is used to treat various kinds of infections in the human body.

How it works?

This medicine is indicted in conditions such as giardiasis and amoebiasis. 

Important information about Medicine

Secnidazole acts as an antiprotozoal and is used to fight infections such as amoebiasis, giardiasis, urethritis, vaginitis and trichomoniasis.

Dosage information

The recommended dosage of SECZOLE is of 1.5gm a day, but this would depend on the severity of the infection. The medicine can be taken with or without food. One needs to make sure that the dosage recommended by the doctor is taken daily, without a miss.

What if you miss a dose?

To get complete results from the medicine you need to take each dose on time. However, if you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. 

What if you overdose?

Never try to experiment with the doses, always take the prescribed ones on time. Make sure that you take each dose as the doctor says, in case you overdose call up your doctor, a local pharmacist or the poison center of your area.

Things to be taken care of

SECZOLE is not to be used by pregnant ladies as this might cause harm to the baby. Even the ladies who are trying to conceive or the ones who are breast feeding their baby should restraint from the intake if this medicine. Anyone with blood related disorders should not take this medicine until instructed by the doctor. Intake of alcohol is strongly prohibited while taking this medicine. 

Side Effects

Like any other medicine, SECZOLE too has some side effects and the possible ones are:

§  Mouth ulcer

§  Stomach pain

§  Nausea

§  Rashes

§  Hives

§  Decreased count of white blood cells

§  Dizziness

§  Taste disturbances

§  Glossitis

§  Urticaria

None of these symptoms should be taken lightly and in case any of these are noticed the doctor needs to be informed immediately. On noticing any of these symptoms, stop taking the medicine and consult your health care practitioner.

Interaction with other drugs

Although, no major interactions with SECZOLE have been reported so far, still if you are taking any medicine or if you are sensitive to any drug inform your doctor. SECZOLE might react with coumarins, thus the medication needs to be administered by a health care practitioner closely.

Make sure that you do not take this medicine with an antacid or with any herbal medicine. In case, you take an antacid, wait for at least 3 to 4 hours before you take SECZOLE to prevent any interaction from occurring.
