SERETIDE DISKUS - 50 MCG / 500 MCG

The combination medicine for treatment of asthma incorporates two major components as fluticasone propionate and Salmeterol Xinafoate. How it works?

This item helps in relaxing the constricted bronchioles and facilitates the smooth breathing. Whilst on the other hand the other combination ingredient works by reducing swelling and irritation of the airways.

Important information about SERETIDE DISKUS

You should avoid this drug if you are allergic to it or any of its constituents present in it. Avoid taking this medicine if are allergic to any of the ingredients present in it. Never choose for inhalation of this supplement in case you have cardiovascular problems or hypertension during your conceiving period. 

Dosage information

It is very important to follow your doctor’s instruction while taking this medicine. For asthmatic patients the general dosage is given as below. However, the doctor must always be consulted before administering the use. If you belong to the category of adult or children above 16 years of age, you should choose Seretide Diskus of strength 50/500 mcg or 50/250 mcg for a single inhalation for 2 times in a day. On the other side, doctors recommend for 50/100 combination for children starting from 4 years to up to 12 years.

The medicine is presented in the varying strength of the active ingredient, one among them is Seretide diskus 50mcg/500mcg. This medicine controls over diabetes but not cure it. Hence, it is required to take this medicine for a longer time as your doctor approved.

What if you miss a dose?

In case you miss a dose of Seretide, skip the dose and take the next one on time. If it’s too late but less than 1 hour of the meal, then you can take it normally as you would. Don’t double up the dose in order to compensate with the missed one.    

What if you overdose?

In case of an overdose of Sitagliptin, you may suffer from harmful side effect such as Allergic reaction, Difficulty in breathing, Chest tightness and swelling. Seek medical emergency in this situation. Even if you do not feel any discomfort, contact your doctor or visit the nearest health centre immediately.

Things to be taken care of

Do not consume alcohol. Do not skip the meals while being treated with this medication. Always keep a source of sugar available with you like a fruit or candy or gel. Keep a regular checkup on your blood sugar level and body weight. Never change the dose until your doctor’s permission.

Side Effects

Inform your doctor as soon as possible if you witness any of the following side effects- Palpitation, Hypotension, Restlessness, Urticaria, Nose bleeding, Mild tremors Dizziness, Nausea, Weakness, Tiredness, Sweating, Fever, pale skin, rashes.

Interaction with other drugs

Tell your doctor regarding all medications you apply. This includes prescription, vitamin, over-the-counter, and herbal products. Your doctor will give you the list of medicines to be avoided while taking Diskus. Some of the medicines, which interact with Diskus, are Xanthenes, Digitalis, Diuretics, Linezolid, HIV protease inhibitors, Sympathomimetics drugs, Macrolides, Boceprevir. Even you will find interaction of the medicine with varying Beta-blockers combinations.
