This antibiotic works by
stopping the growth of protozoa and bacteria causing infections.

Tinidazole belongs to the
class of nitroimidazoles antibiotics. It is an anti-parasitic that is usually
recommended for giardiasis, amebiasis, bacterial vaginosis, acute necrotising
ulcerative gingivitisand trichomoniasis.

if you miss a dose?
Make sure that you do not
skip any dose, in case, you miss one, take it as soon as you recall. If you

if you overdose?
Overdose of an antibiotic
could prove fatal, do not change the dosage recommended by the doctor. In case
you overdose and notice symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and headache, visit
the nearby poison or hospital immediately.

This medicine should not
be taken by someone who is allergic to metronidazole or the one who is allergic

conceive before you start taking this medicine. If you have a history of
nervous system disorders, blood problems or suffer from kidney or liver disease
inform your doctor about this. Do not take alcohol while taking Tiniba as this
might cause stomach upset and severe nausea. Complete the course and do not
stop taking the medicine suddenly unless instructed by the doctor as this could
lead to several discomforting symptoms.

with other drugs
Tiniba might show
possible interactions with warfarin, fluorouracil, cyclosporine,
oxytetracycline, carbamazepine, tacrolimus, ketoconazole, fosphenytoin,
rifamycins, erythromycin and phenytoin. Make sure you inform your doctor about
any medicine that you are taking or have taken in the recent past as this will
help him or decide whether Tiniba needs to be prescribed to you or not. Do not
take this medicine with antacids, oral contraceptives, mineral or dietary
supplements and herbal medicines as the constituents present in this might
bring down the efficiency of this medicine and even interfere in its working.
