ZOLDONAT
4mg
ZOLDONAT is an
anti-cancer drug that is usually used to treat high blood levels of calcium
caused by hypercalcemia of malignancy. This medicine can also be used to treat
bone cancer or multiple myelomas.
How it
works?
ZOLDONAT inhibits
osteoclastic activity and skeletal calcium release caused by tumors. Regular
intake of this anti-cancer medicine tends to slowly lower fracture risk or
other bone related problems.

Zoledronic acid or
bisphosphonate is an amino bisphosphonate which acts as a potent inhibitor of
bone resorption. It tends to inhibit the release of calcium from bones. This
medicine is either used alone or with other combination of chemotherapeutic
agents for the treatment of malignancies.
Dosage
information
In adults, a single
dose of 4mg is given in the form of an injection in the vein and this session
usually lasts up to 15 minutes.
Retreatment in patients who relapse or who are refractory to
initial treatment: 4 mg as an infusion over at least 15 minutes, after at least
1 week from initial dose.
